DRT breaks ground on Georgia plant
ATLANTA — French company DRT has broken ground for a turpentine distillation plant in Effingham County, the Atlanta Business Chronicle reported.
The plant, which will be built on a 60-acre parcel in the Effingham County Industrial Park, will initially provide 30 to 40 jobs, DRT said in a prepared statement.

DRT specializes in pine chemistry and utilizes natural and renewable raw materials, primarily turpentine from pine trees, to produce a wide variety of products including ingredients for perfumes, resins used in adhesives and chewing gum, and many others, the company said.
DRT’s U.S. subsidiary, DRT America LLC, will operate the plant.
