Sprouts grocery stores sprouting up in Georgia

ATLANTA — Sprouts Farmers Market Inc., a Phoenix-based health-focused grocery chain, confirmed recently that it will open two stores in the Atlanta area.

The chain will open a store at 1853 Piedmont Ave. NE. in the Buckhead area, according to a news release. The company announced it will also open a store in Marietta, at 4101 Roswell Road, in the Providence Square Shopping Center.

Both stores will open during the first quarter of 2016. They will be the first locations in Georgia.

According to the release, the company plans to open 12 new locations in the first quarter 2016. Each new store is expected to bring 100 new jobs.

Sprouts currently operates more than 200 stores in 13 states across the country.

By the end of 2015, it will have opened a total of 27 new stores throughout the year, including three new states: Missouri, Alabama and Tennessee.
